Resiliency Workshop Today
Open to All Parents
Wednesdays, 11:30 - 12:30, Library
Today we will hold our 3rd workshop session with Dr. Susan Wais, who teaches us how to help our children recognize their character strengths, and how to use these strengths to thrive in school and in life. The workshops are offered to LJES parents free of charge. Child care provided.
Note: There will be no workshop next week, Oct. 31st, due to the LJES Halloween Parade.

Trick or Treat for UNICEF!
Pick up collection boxes during Pizza Wednesday TODAY, or in the office
Go trick-or-treating for UNICEF on Halloween! Collect donations in your UNICEF box to help provide clean water, nutrition, education and more to millions of kids in need around the world. Boxes will be available on a first come, first served basis during Pizza Wednesday today, Oct. 24th, and in the office. |

 ELAC Meeting
This Friday, 8am
An ELAC (English Learners Action Committee) meeting will be held this Friday from 8:00 - 8:50 in the LJES Library.

The LJES Book Fair is Coming Up!
 November 5th - 16th
Kids LOVE to choose books at the
LJES Book Fair!
Support our library by visiting the fair and purchasing books for your child or your child's classroom, all at reasonable prices. All money raised will be used to purchase new books and materials for our school library.
Your child's class will be visiting the book fair during school hours. Students will browse the selection and fill our a "Wish List" of books that look interesting. It's a great way to encourage reading!
Can you spare one or two hours to help out? No experience necessary! The book fair will run from November 5th through November 16th and will also be open at night on Thursday, November 15th.
You can help during your child's class preview and/or before/after school when it is open for parents to purchase books. Please click here to sign up for a slot (or two).

The Rey Vinole Swing Band will be playing music from the 40's through today, so get ready to dance the evening away. A photographer will be taking portraits, and lemonade and cookies will be served.
