PLEASE NOTE CORRECTIONS
 All interested 5th grade* students are invited to meet with Ms. Tripi today, October 17 during recess for an informational meeting. The meeting will be held in Rm 14 - Ms. Wood's classroom. *Only 5th Grade students may run for office in the upcoming election. Four 4th grade students (one from each class) are also chosen as Student Council class representatives, but this selection is not part of the LJES election. |
Resiliency Workshop Today
Open to All Parents
Wednesdays, 11:30 - 12:30, Library
Today we will hold our 2nd workshop session with Susan Wais, Ph.d., renowned psychologist in the field of Positive Psychology. Dr. Wais has trained our teachers to work with our students on recognizing their character strengths, and how to use these strengths to thrive in school and in life. Come to the workshops to learn what your child is learning and how you can reinforce these lessons at home. These workshops are offered to LJES parents free of charge. Child care provided.

The LJES Book Fair is Coming Up!
 November 5th - 16th
Kids LOVE to choose books at the
LJES Book Fair!
Support our library by visiting the fair and purchasing books for your child or your child's classroom, all at reasonable prices. All money raised will be used to purchase new books and materials for our school library.
Your child's class will be visiting the book fair during school hours. Students will browse the selection and fill our a "Wish List" of books that look interesting. It's a great way to encourage reading!
Can you spare one or two hours to help out? No experience necessary! The book fair will run from November 5th through November 16th and will also be open at night on Thursday, November 15th.
You can help during your child's class preview and/or before/after school when it is open for parents to purchase books. Please click here to sign up for a slot (or two).

Taste of La Jolla, Tuesday, Oct. 23rd

The annual Taste of La Jolla is happening Tuesday, October 23rd from 6:00-8:30. 100% proceeds go directly to the needs of the students at La Jolla High School.
Get a group of your favorite friends together and stroll through the village sampling food from 25 of the best restaurants in La Jolla Village including Eddie V's, Herringbone, George's, Crab Catcher, Azul, Tapenade, The Cottage, Nine-Ten, Puesto, Burger Lounge, Whisknladle and Hennessey's.
