October is all about Craft, it seems!
First up is American Craft Week, which celebrates Craft in America, both our traditional craft techniques and very contemporary, cutting edge methods.
In celebration of American Craft Week, we have a display in the hallway showing some craft techniques such as marbling, which can be applied to both paper and fiber, and some tools of the trades, in an effort to demonstrate the work which goes into so many of the items we sell.
When we understand not only the materials that go into something, but the time, to say nothing of that pesky learning curve, we can have a renewed appreciation for the outcome. Add in the talent, the skill and the artistry, and you can begin to glean why I am so passionate about craft!
Stop by this week and let us pique your interest!
