NOVEMBER AT THE Y
Festival of Trees
Kick off this holiday season of giving by joining us for festivities that give back all year long.  All are welcome to join us for the YMCA Festival of Trees supporting the Guardian financial assistance program on November 17th at the Smithfield Center.  Enjoy live music, food, as well as a live and silent auction.  Tickets are available at the Welcome Center, any staff or Board Member, or at the door.

FREE child care is available at the Y if you are attending the Festival of Trees; pre-registration is required.

Family Volunteer Day happy family
At the Y, strengthening communities and helping our neighbors is our cause, so we are collecting non-perishable food items for our annual food drive. Your youth group, business, civic club, and the community are invited to help collect food and then join us at the Y to sort, fill, and decorate food boxes on Sunday, November 18th, at 2:00 p.m.  The decorated boxes will be delivered to our neighbors in need.

Healthy Holiday Gifts
Give the gift of health this holiday season in the form of YMCA membership, personal training, child care, or Y programs.  Our Welcome Center staff can help you put together the perfect holiday gift.
YOUTH SUPER SPORTS BASKETBALL

Coming this winter at the Y:basketball boy

Youth Super Sports trained coaches introduce the basic skills and rules of basketball. Some of the fundamentals included are dribbling, passing, receiving, shooting, and ball handling. Good sportsmanship and character development are emphasized. Fitness concepts include fitness for the heart, lungs, and muscles, flexibility, and healthy eating.

Registration is currently open for Youth Super Sports Basketball for ages 4-12.  Players receive a jersey, shorts, certificate and medal.

Volunteers are essential to the success of this program.  Please ask how you can get involved.  For more information or to register go to www.peninsulaymca.org.

WE MADE THE Y OUR CHARITY OF CHOICE

The Strong Communities campaign makes Y programs affordable and accessible to all.  The campaign allows us to open our doors and our hearts to those in need.  Can you help?  Here's what your gift can for others:

  • $1000 provides a child with a summer of camp fun.
  • $500 strengthens a family with six months of blue green group membership.
  • $250 supports one team to participate in YMCA youth sports or a teen to develop leadership skills.
  • $100 provides one child with one week of quality before and after school child care.
  • $50 raises a child's self-esteem through participation in a youth sport.
  • $25 protects a child from harm by giving them a sesson of swim lessons.

Please consider making an investment in your community by making the Y your charity of choice.  Make a secure donation by clicking here.
