PALCUS Gala Program
 ~
Forum on Civic Participation and
Book Presentation on
Portuguese-American Politicians in California

PALCUS was founded on the principle that the Portuguese-American community needed to have a stronger, united voice at the national level to advocate for legislation and other issues that affected us as a group.  Encouraging citizenship, voting, civic participation and having Portuguese-Americans elected to political office at the local, state and federal levels has had a major impact on getting the Portuguese voice heard.  This forum explores these themes, what has been accomplished and what is still yet to be done.

A new book, "California's Portuguese Politicians", published by the Portuguese Heritage Publications of California in partnership with FLAD, will be featured and its author, Al Graves will be in attendance to discuss the book.

Saturday, November 2nd
