Thanksgiving Day wishes from PALCUS

thanksgiving

Portuguese Americans have much for which to be thankful in this great nation. We are thankful for the opportunity and freedom to pursue our dreams, for those who sacrifice to ensure our freedom and for the blessings of abundance that our labors bring. Most of all, we are grateful to our ancestors who had the vision to recognize the opportunities to be found here and the courage to leave their beloved homeland of Portugal in order to build a better future for their children and grandchildren in the United States.

During this very American holiday of grateful reflection, PALCUS would like to pause to express our thanks to all those who have helped us in fulfilling our mission this year.  PALCUS is grateful to all our friends, colleagues and donors at home and abroad who support us with their enthusiasm and participation as well as financial contributions. We are grateful to all our members that have joined us in working towards advancing the Portuguese American community professionally, politically and culturally.

Thanks to your support, PALCUS has been able to advocate for our community for 21 years by providing internships for our youth, strengthening ties between the U.S. and Portugal, advocating for consular services with the US Department of State, and maintaining communication with the United States Congress. You have helped us to launch our first national scholarship program for Portuguese-American college students, to support the teaching of Portuguese in the U.S. and to open a new mentoring initiative just to name a few new programs. Your support helps us to honor our outstanding community leaders year after year at the annual Leadership Awards Gala. Thank you for believing in our cause and for your good will.

The PALCUS Board of Directors and Staff wish you and yours a Thanksgiving Day of contentment and comfort surrounded by the warmth of family and friends.  May you continue to enjoy the blessings of this nation and the fellowship of our rich community in good health and peace.

Happy Thanksgiving Day!

Feliz Dia de Ao de Graas!
