about snaap

SNAAP (Strategic National Arts Alumni Project) is a research effort led by Indiana and Arizona State Universities, and supported by the Surdna Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, and others.

SNAAP gives us rich data and info about the lives and careers of arts graduates in North America since 2008.

Participants in SNAAP get comprehensive reports with peer group comparisons, a raw dataset of identifiable individual alumni responses, and easily digestible institution-specific data visualizations.

SNAAP data is valuable for assessment, fundraising, program development, curricular change, and much more!

See a sample* of the SNAAPGraph you'll receive. *Sample does not show real data.

the value of an
arts degree

SNAAP is changing the national conversation on the value of an arts degree.

Nearly 3 million recent college grads are worrying about the future and job prospects. As if that weren't enough, many well-meaning relatives will ask them, "What are you going to do with that degree?"

"Uncle Henry" might give a pass to biology, economics, and chemistry majors, but not to those who studied creative writing, visual arts, theater, design, dance or music.

Watch this video based on data from SNAAP and produced by Arizona State University's Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts.

Respondents were at different career stages and represent more than 150 arts programs from diverse institutions.
