Bathtubs are no longer as functional as they use to be for our needs.
The way we use bathrooms tends to change over time. But we lag behind in design and use, since it takes time to move from what we thought we wanted, to what we now find useful and pleasing.
One example is the use of bathtubs. For whatever reason, people have in the past used bathtubs rather than showers. Maybe it goes back to the days of pioneers. If you had a bath on Saturday night you were good for the week! It was probably easier to just have a tub, as showers required waterproof walls and additional plumbing. Now we have discovered how convenient and refreshing it is to "jump into the shower". We don't take many baths anymore, though most families still like having at least one tub in the house for bathing small children or even pets.
The first steps toward a new shower area are choosing exactly what you want and determining how you will pay for it. Draw up a budget and a design, and then decide whether you wish to do it yourself or engage a general contractor to remove the bother and do it for you.
