This spring is the first semester of Naropa's Bhutan Study Abroad (BSA) program, in partnership with the Royal University of Bhutan. Our inaugural group of BSA students have landed in Bhutan and this semester's lead faculty, Anne Parker, has shared some beautiful photos of their journey on her Naropa blogEnjoy the photos and please check back often to follow the journey of this group of Naropa pioneers! 

 

On March 13, Naropa University will open its doors to prospective undergraduate students from across the country and around the world at Experience Naropa - a whirlwind of activity designed to open minds, spark creativity, and begin to create the bonds of community. Those who attend will really get a feel for what it's like to be a Naropa student! It's happening Friday, March 13 from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. at Naropa. Learn more and share this link.

Naropa alumni, students, faculty and staff can explore their Myers Briggs type preferences at this group workshop facilitated by Matt Peterson, M.S., MBTI� Certified Practitioner. The MBTI is a personality inventory that makes use of the theory of psychological types described by C. G. Jung, this workshop will explore how your type applies to life at and beyond college and career. Free and open to all Naropa community members. RSVP required.

Alumni Highlights
Cobina Lartson, MA '04, is the founder and CEO of Afrikmall, which is scheduled to have its grand opening in spring 2015! Afrikmall is "a place that Africans living in Colorado can call home, providing a range of business services, as well as cultural, community and social opportunities and events." In addition to founding Afrikmall, Lartson is a science educator with the Denver Public Schools and serves as President of the Rocky Mountain Ghana Council (in Colorado). His strong desire to contribute to the development of Africans has led him to various responsibilities in the community. Megan Marsnik, MFA '98, is the winner of the Star Tribune's search for a summer serial novel. Her first novel, working title: "Underground," will be published in daily installments in the Star Tribune over the course of the summer of 2015, as well as being made available online as an e-book. Marsnik's book is an historical novel, set on the Iron Range during the tumultuous strike of 1916, told through the perspective of a strong young woman who emigrated to the Range from Slovenia to live with her relatives. Roslyn Weiss, MA '09, was recently featured in the Daily Camera for her product, Little Elf, a Boulder-made, all-natural scrub ideal for cleaning sinks, tubs, etc. Drawing from her values of environmental responsibility in her business of cleaning houses and some commercial spaces, Weiss developed the product "based on [her] everyday practice with cleaning." Little Elf is currently available for purchase at Isabelle Farm's store and online at littleelfclean.com. A few weeks ago we brought in the largest spring class in the last decade, and I'm happy to report that 21% of those incoming students were referred by alumni. You know it when you meet those people who have Naropa written all over them and I thank you for sending them my way. Your efforts are helping to expand our vibrant campus community.
