Naropa University has launched an official blog, The Pilot Light, and we'd love to have you contribute your voice! If you have recently given or attended an enlightening lecture or workshop, or are involved in a project or publication, this is the place to share your insights. If you have created content for the blog, or have an idea for a blog post you'd like to contribute, please contact blog@naropa.edu. Will Horowitz was recently featured in Tricycle with a spotlight on his restaurant, Ducks Eatery in Manhattan. Specializing in heritage techniques, Horowitz utilizes the natural timeline of the seasons, and nothing goes to waste. Read more about Horowitz in Tricycle

Samuel Jablon, BA '09, is continuing to gain recognition for his artwork in New York. With reviews in
Art in America, Art News, and The Wall Street Journal, Jablon is described as both a poet and a visual artist. Jablon's work is characterized as having "an approach and attitude that marks the arrival of a new voice." Learn more about Jablon's work and projects


Gleason Bauer, MFA '07, was awarded a 2014 True West Award, which recognizes achievements in local theater by awarding a different honoree each day for 30 days. Bauer directed, co-produced, served as scenic designer for and co-adapted SLAB, an original stage adaptation of a mystical regional novel written by Selah Saterstrom in the wake of the 2013 floods in Colorado. Happy 2015 to all of our amazing alumni!

 

The undergraduate team is rather busy right now welcoming the incoming spring class at orientation over in PAC. We're excited to have just under 60 new students joining us, which is a fantastic number! Kudos to Karen Wills, Matt Robertson, and our newest counselor, Jack Teng, for bringing in the latest crop of Naropians... Read more.

In Memory

In memory of Phillip Stormant

 

On the evening of December 12th, 2014, Phillip Stormant, BA '11, passed away in a peaceful manner. He became one with the light he loved at the age of 29. A memorial service was held for his family and friends in Pensacola, Florida in December. Read more from Phillip's family

 

If you wish to act in Phillip's memory, his family requests that donations be sent to the Phillip Stormant Memorial Fund. Funds will be used to help start the Love and Light Art and Farming community where troubled souls may go to heal. You are also invited to leave a message of love on Phillip's Facebook page as well.
