"Those of us in admissions are hard at work this summer connecting with our incoming class and preparing for fall recruitment and travel. We hosted our new students on campus on June 20 where they mixed and mingled with the Naropa community and got a taste of the Summer Writing Program as well as Mike's delicious ginger lemonade. Then we all turned around and headed to Denver PrideFest where we spread the Naropa love far and wide. I personally hugged at least 1000 people and a ferret! I can't tell you how fantastic it was to meet so many of you at PrideFest and to share a little bit of Naropa with the larger community.
Thank you all for sending talented students our way. You are easily our biggest asset when it comes to identifying solid Naropa students. Alumni, more than anyone, know the passion, open-mindedness, dedication to authenticity, and willingness to serve that it takes to thrive as a Naropa student. When we get an alumni referral in admissions, we don't take it lightly. I just counted fifteen undergraduate students entering this fall who were referred by alumni! You're fantastic, and I can't thank you enough. Keep the good students coming our way.
Let me know if you have recruiting ideas or want to connect around admissions events. Alumni are always welcome to participate and I think I still have a few hugs left in me, so watch out!"
~ Karen Wills, Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Admissions
On June 21 & 22, the Office of Admissions and Naropa community volunteers welcomed Denver PrideFest patrons to take part in a community-wide art project called "#NaropaLoves." We were thrilled to see so many alumni at our booth! Check out some great photos from the event on Facebook and see if you can spot your fellow alumni.
