Alumni Weekend Planning Committee 

*Save the Date!*  Naropa's Alumni Weekend will be Friday, October 10 -Saturday, October 11, 2014! This will include a number of gatherings and opportunities for alumni to enjoy, such as "Alumni College", classes for alumni by beloved Naropa faculty, school and program receptions, as well as a big Naropa gathering with food, music and friends, to celebrate Naropa's 40th year. Gregory Alan Isakov, BA '03, was recently featured in The Gazette and The Denver Post charting his transition from horticulture to music. His third full-length album, "The Weatherman" was released in July, debuting at No. 5 on Billboard's folk chart. Preview the album and keep up with Isakov here

 

 

McCormick Templeman, MFA '03has a forthcoming novel The Glass Casket, which will be published by Delacorte Press/Random House on February 11, 2014. The second of her novels, The Glass Casket is available for pre-order online. Find out more about Templeman's work and follow her on Twitter.    

 
Christopher Luna, MFA '99, was named Vancouver's first poet laureate by the Clark County Arts Commission last year. In his second year of service, Luna has received grants to help him promote poetry as an art form and mode of self expression throughout the county. Five art groups have joined Luna to launch the campaign "Enriching Lives Through Words: Poetry in Clark County." Read more
 
Pirooz Kalayeh, MFA '03, recently released a new film Brad Warner's Hardcore Zen. The film is a documentary about a controversial Zen master who has sought to strip away the sheen off many taboo topics in Zen Buddhism. Watch the trailer here
  
Angela Kleespies, MFA '08, known by her pen name Anna Klay, released her novel Broken Wing in paperback in October 2013, and it is now available in digital form on Amazon. As the author, she gives much credit to her characters who led her down a dark path to the light of awareness and her instructors at Naropa for their expertise in writing and instruction.
