Mini Authentic Leadership Series with Susan Skjei
Tuesdays (Oct 8, 22 and Nov 19), 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Academic Coaching Classroom, Lower Level, Wulsin Hall 2130 Arapahoe Ave This mini-series provides an introduction to Authentic Leadership--a powerful approach to personal and professional development that can increase one's capacity for clarity, compassion and effective action in life and at work. The program will include meditation practice, contemplative dialogue and practical application. Open to Naropa students, alumni, faculty and staff, free of charge. Susan is skilled at fostering inclusive and empowering learning experiences and is an Acharya (senior teacher) within the Shambhala tradition. | | New Trustee Appointed Naropa University appointed Patagonia Works President & CEO, Rose Marcario, to the Board of Trustees. "As a highly regarded social entrepreneur, leader in environmental sustainability, and longtime Buddhist practitioner with deep ties to Naropa's founding lineage, Rose will bring a valuable perspective to the board," shares Naropa President Charles Lief. Remembering Anselm Hollo Naropa University hosted a memorial reading during their 2013 Summer Writing Program for poet and longtime Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics faculty member, Anselm Hollo. A prolific poet, translator, and a beloved mentor to hundreds of students, Anselm Hollo died peacefully in his home on January 29, 2013 after a valiant battle with a recurrent meningioma. He is deeply missed by the Naropa community. Read more. Congratulations, Dr. Judith Simmer-Brown! Naropa University is pleased to announce that Dr. Judith Simmer-Brown, Naropa professor of religious studies since 1978, has been named Distinguished Professor of Contemplative and Religious Studies. According to Naropa University President Charles Lief, the new appointment "will have a lasting impact on [Naropa's] longterm success as a contemplative education leader." Read more
