Hello Marist Young Adults!
On October 28th, our Marist family commemorated Marcellin Champagnat's momentous meeting with a dying young boy. Reading the signs of the times, Marcellin knew that he needed to establish a congregation of teaching brothers to combat the religious ignorance of his time. Almost two hundred years later our mission remains the same, to make Jesus Christ known and loved, but our methods have changed. To help increase our evangelization efforts, the Marist Young Adult Program has launched a mobile app. to keep people connected by sharing information and prayer resources. On November 6th, Americans will not only be voting for president but will also be casting ballots for many other candidates in local contests. Smart Voter is a non-partisan, unbiased source for voter information. By simply inputing a street address, visitors can get information about the candidates, view a sample ballot and locate one's polling place.  Marist Young Adults joined other members of the Marist family to construct an outdoor chapel and create a peace pole plaza in Esopus...The Marist Young Adult Advisory Committee met on via confrerence call on October 21st...The final two college transitions chat were held in early October...Marist Young Adults in Miami raised over $500 to benefit the Alzh eimer's Association...During the month of October, Marist Young Adults in New York, New Jersey and Florida attended evenings of Taize prayer...Young adult leaders at the October Encounter in Esopus participated in a retreat within a retreat...A hiking retreat was held in conjunction with Marist College...Patsy Healy has agreed to be the MYAAC representative from Chicago...In additi on to the new mobile app., Marist Young Adults continue to keep connected through twitter, blogs and LinkedIn. Many volunteer opportunitues are available in Esop  us. If you have a day, a weekend, a week, or longer and are willing to share your time and talents with the greater Marist community, please contact Br. Owen Ormsby at boofms@gmail.com. Come help with retreats, painting, kitchen work or a number of other projects. |

 The Marist Young Adult Program invites interested young adults between the ages of 18 and 30 to further explore their Christian faith. Through spiritual, social and service activities, both online and in person, young adults can experience an alive and vibrant faith rooted in the Marist tradition.
