Greetings!Follow Your Hearts.com (Green Hearts of Course!) Okay, I admit it. There are days when I wish I had the influence of Oprah. And it's not what you think. It's really not about me but about spreading the word about the myriad of wonderful, amazing, game changing people I meet and their causes. The more people who know about Mrs. Green, the more people and causes I can help connect. Oprah buys something, discovers a product or reads a book, talks about it and an entire company or person's life is changed forever. This segment of the newsletter is about a company I discovered and would like to see that happen for them because they are a whole great green idea whose time has come. Let's see what kind of impact we can have on their world.
Meet Hearts.com. I spent over an hour visiting their home office in Scottsdale this week. Instead of writing a long piece about them, I am going to ask you to see for yourself. Take time out of your busy life to be inspired by a small group of committed individuals changing the world. Hopefully sharing their mission statement will pique your interest (on GREEN steroids!) and you will want to become a part of their world because they ARE the change we all wish to see in the world. Their mission, their vision, their partnerships, their commitment to sustainability on a global scale are beyond words. Here goes: "Hearts is a team of 10 people ON A MISSION TO INSPIRE PEOPLE TO THINK DIFFERENTLY about their purchases, not just in the fashion industry but in every aspect of consumerism. The value a monetary purchase has is very powerful and can impact CHANGE ON A GLOBAL SCALE. We believe with all our hearts that when everyone is provided the facts, they will work towards CONSCIOUS CONSUMERISM and make demands for other companies to do the same." Oh my. The Mrs. Green team is going to develop some kind of partnership with Hearts.com that has already begun. When I told their president, Michelle Gerster, that I was going to write about them in the newsletter, she was thrilled and responded by saying "That is so wonderful and I am very touched. And if anyone orders, tell them to put "mrsgreen" in the promo code and get 20% off." I did not ask but I did receive. And, oh, 70% of their upcycled, recycled, repurposed, re-everything items are sourced in the USA. Here's to conscious consumerism reaching the tipping point.
Did You Know That Mrs. Green is Blogging? At a Mrs. Green team meeting several weeks ago, one of our wonderful team members said "Why don't you shorten your newsletter and insert links to some of the blogs you write." So this is an experiment. Here are some links to two blogs I have written recently. Some of you write to me every other week about this newsletter and your feedback is appreciated beyond words. Let me know if you like the concept of a shorter newsletter and more links. Let me know if you like the blogs or if there are topics you would really like me to research and write about - because this is OUR community and because I care deeply about you and what you think. Blog #1 Hitting the Starbucks Chord - a blog about a blog. Really makes one think about a complex issue. Blog #2 Got Bugs in Your Water? Not joking. What On Earth Moves YOU?
To celebrate Earth Month, we have picked six global issues about the earth that move us. We want to know what you think, what moves you, what you care about the most. What is your number ONE issue for preserving this amazing planet of ours? Please check it all out, pin if you are a pinner and/or forward the message to someone who pins AND cares about making a difference. Yes, great prizes every week and yes, we are finding things out about you - like clean water really matters to most of us. Green Testing... If you did, indeed, read ALL THE WAY DOWN, send me an email. A Mrs. Green "signature" reusable bag and a $15 gift card from Hearts.com will be in the mail to the first 5 people to email kelly@mrsgreensworld.com. I love doing this and love the responses!

Silent Killer: The Movie
We use 380,000,000,000 of them every year. They are made primarily from petroleum and natural gas. They never biodegrade. They are the Silent Killers. They are plastic bags & we need to stop using them. Together, we can take small steps to make a big impact.

In addition to the Kids Can Cook show, which she hosts with her younger sister Nia, Haile has appeared in local and nationally televised cooking segments, national and local talk shows, and conducts cooking demonstrations at community events.
