The National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) congratulates the latest nine local health departments that have received accreditation from the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB). Each went through a rigorous assessment process to become accredited. The local health departments in this group are: Columbus Public Health, Columbus, Ohio; Cook County Department of Public Health, Oak Forest, Ill.; Delaware General Health District, Delaware, Ohio; Hennepin County Human Services and Public Health Department, Minneapolis, Minn.; Loudoun Health District, Leesburg, Va.; Marion County Health Department, Salem, Ore.; Missoula City-County Health Department, Missoula, Mont.; Oneida County Health Department, Rhinelander, Wis.; and Tooele County Health Department, Tooele, Utah.

The decisions bring the number of governmental public health departments now recognized by PHAB as high-performing health departments to 31. Additionally, five new states have been added to the growing ranks of states with at least one nationally accredited health department. For more information, visit www.phaboard.org.
