I cannot believe that we are just about into September!  I have even noticed some leaves changing and falling!  Speaking of changes...I am so excited to introduce ya'll to Gracie, my new border collie puppy! Today she is 11 weeks old.  I have had her for 3 weeks this Sunday and she is just the sweetest thing ever!  Her mouth is on everything and she is constantly moving and checking things out.  Then she "crashes" for a short period before getting right back at it!  She is learning basic commands and shows a tremendous amount of patience, for which I am thankful! She is doing great on potty training and walks great on a leash. My four kitties are still adjusting.  Murphy plays with her the most and totally has fun with her!  I am sure there will be lots of updates and pics, both in our upcoming newsletters and facebook and instagram!

We are starting up with fall shows and there are lots of them.  I hope to see ya'll at there, so check them out on our calendar.

School is back in session and that means weekend trips and football games and then the holidays are right around the corner.  Be sure to get your visit requests in as soon as you plan for them because we want to say yes.

Have a great fall season!

Linda and Gracie

Have you seen our new Puppy Approved collection? With the addition of Gracie to the Nana's team we are having a blast watching her play with all the demo toys deciding which ones are her favorite. So in honor of Gracie and the toys she simply cannot stop dragging around the house, we are introducing our Puppy Approved collection.
Gracie and the Doggie Tail

First up- the Hide-A-Critter
As she gets a little older she will get concept of pulling out the hiding bees. But for now, she loves running around sqeaking the bees and attacking the beehive, shaking it back and forth across her playpen.

Second- the Cozy Krinkles
These adorable toys aren't just the cutest things you've ever seen, they are one of Gracie's favorite toys to cuddle and play with. A rope runs from the head to tail giving her something hard to chew on. But they are also packed with a layer of crinkling that she simply cannot resist.

She has taken a special liking to the Bumpy Pals Turtle, whose body is a squeaking ball that she goes absolutely nuts for. The rope and football are designed for teething pups, and after seeing them in action, they are quite durable!

This lightweight toy is almost as big as she is, but that does not stop her from running and pouncing on it every chance she gets.

Next on the listThe Doggie Tail
On a limb, we set the Doggie Tail in her playpen to see if she'd take an interest. It's a battery operated toy that barks, squeaks and rattles around when pushed or tossed. The tail has a layer of crinkle which is what piqued her interest. Being as heavy as she is, she just dragged it around the crate for a while and accidentally set it off, which set off a great barking reaction from Gracie- truly priceless.

Lastly- the CarSafe Seat Belt
Not really a toy, but this seat belt is her walking harness as well as what keeps her strapped into the passenger seat. Walking a puppy can be tricky but using a harness alleviates pressure on the throat and neck and gives you better control. Having a harness that doubles as a seat belt for all those trips to Home Depot just makes it easy...and how adorable is an extra small doggie seat belt?

What is a Titer Check?

Taking responsibility for your pet's health would, naturally, entail yearly vet checkups and routinevaccinations, like rabies, distemper, bordatella and parvo virus. But have you ever stopped to wonder just exactly why you're vaccinating your pet every year? Do you yourself get a chicken pox vaccination every year? How about a hepatitis shot?

We do not get vaccinations every year because we don't have to and it's possible our pets don't either. Veterinary medicine is finally catching up to human medicine and the way vets think about vaccinations is changing for the better. Read More
