9th Annual Child Advocates Classic

Thank you to everyone who came out to golf and play tennis and helped Child Advocates raise over $100,000 for our Project for Medically Needy Children.  The day was a HUGE success and everyone enjoyed themselves on the courts and on the greens.

Click HERE to view pictures from the event and see the winners of the Golf Classic and Tennis Round Robin Tournament. Lastly, a very special thank you to our amazing sponsors: we could not have done this without you!

Meet the Volunteer Attorney: Frank Crowley

Frank Crowley has already changed the lives of 16 children during the 12 years that he has donated his time as a lawyer for Child Advocates.  Frank is a partner at Blank Rome and specializes in complex litigation matters in federal and state courts and administrative agencies. He assists clients in litigation related to various aspects of real estate transactions. Frank is a co-leader of his firm's Consumer Financial Services Litigation Practice Group and is also the leader of his firm's Child Advocacy Practice Group.

Frank was introduced to our work through his firm, which has a long and established relationship with Child Advocates and knew it would be a good fit. He had previously dedicated time to a program that focused on juvenile justice and representing juveniles with special needs or who had special circumstances and wanted to continue to work to make a difference in the lives of children.

Frank knew the work we did was imperative to the safety and well-being of children throughout Philadelphia. According to Frank, "children are the most vulnerable members of our society. Without someone to speak for them and assist them in determining their best interests, they can become lost in the system."

In 2009 he was honored at the Child Advocates Annual Benefit Reception & Auction as a Distinguished Advocate for his work and dedication to children.

"Frank has a command of the issues in his cases and a way of making children in different situations feel comfortable," says Senior Staff Attorney Barry Kassel who has worked with him on various cases. Social Work Supervisor Naja Macon agrees, "Frank is a compassionate and committed volunteer who is a zealous advocate for our clients. He is excellent inside and outside of the courtroom."

Frank was inspired to practice law because he believes lawyers have the ability to positively influence society and bring about real change.

When asked about his advice to someone thinking of volunteering with Child Advocates Frank enthusiastically responded "Do it! By far, it has been one of the most rewarding experiences in my 30 year career!"

Frank is married with three children, who support his work with us. His daughter Teresa even interned with Child Advocates! In his spare time Frank is an avid soccer fan and coach of 20 years. He also loves reading a variety of book genres.
