Toy Drive Recap!
On Saturday, December 21st, over 70 drivers loaded up their cars to deliver toys to 1,250 children and youth at more than 500 locations in Philadelphia and the surrounding area. This year's Toy Drive was a massive success, only made possible by the countless efforts of volunteers, staff and sponsors.  Together, we change the story!

 VOLUNTEERING

During moments of great uncertainty, our volunteer attorneys provide their clients with an invaluable service. They give the children someone to talk to, someone to go to court with and someone to give them a voice.

"You have to sit down and have some very hard conversations with these teens," says Kali Wellington-James, a volunteer attorney from Pepper Hamilton LLP. "It can be difficult for children to understand the difference between deciding what's best for their family, and what's best for them."

Kali studied child and human development in college and volunteered with teens at youth centers, but she had not worked in the role of an advocate for children prior to joining Child Advocates in 2010.

"When I have questions, the staff attorneys are always there to bounce ideas off of. The social workers have been fantastic. This has been a wonderful experience. Not only in helping me grow as a lawyer, but because of the impact that we've made on children's lives."
