Meet the Advocate: Christine Minerva, Social Worker
Christine Minerva, MSW is our newest Child Advocate Social Worker who has always had a passion for advocacy. Before working at Child Advocates, she was a caseworker and therapist at Womanspace, an organization that prevents domestic violence and provides services to victims of abuse and neglect. In 2012, she was honored with the New Jersey Child Assault Prevention Award for her project with local child protection agencies to train caseworkers on how to handle cases with a co-occurrence of child abuse and domestic violence.
At Child Advocates, Christine is happy to be part of an organization that works to improve child advocacy services on a micro and macro level. Most of all, she loves seeing the impact Child Advocates has on the community and how deeply the staff cares about each client. Originally from New Jersey, Christine graduated from The College of New Jersey with a degree in Sociology and Women's Studies and obtained her Master's degree in Social Work at Rutgers University. When she is not working, Christine enjoys hanging out with family and friends, camping, shunning all social media (even Facebook!) and martial arts. Welcome to Child Advocates, Christine!
