Spring 2011Newly Redesigned DAI WebsiteOne of the things DAI has done over the last several months is update our website to make it more user friendly and interactive. By going to our website you will be able to learn more about DAI and the products and services we have to offer. You will also be able to download Material Data Sheets, MSDS sheets and with a password you can access material certs as needed. In addition you can request a quote by answering a few basic questions then upload any documents, prints, PDF's, models etc . pertaining to your RFQ. This will save time and make it easier to get quotes back quickly. A virtual tour can also be accessed through the website. We feel the new website will be a great benefit to our customers. Visit http://www.daiceramics.com to learn more about DAI Ceramics, Inc. Extruded Ceramic Cores & Threaded Ceramic Extrusions![]() We continue to make improvements and upgrades to our extruded core and threaded extrusion process. With some new equipment and streamlining the process we have been able to keep our pricing the same and in some cases below 2010 levels. We have the capability to produce tens of thousands of threaded parts per week in house or a couple hundred pieces depending on your needs. If you have a requirement for an extruded core or need a thread in casting let DAI help. We can tailor a core to meet your exact requirement and can make up samples for evaluation. Give us a call to learn more on how our extruded and threaded ceramic cores can reduce the cost of putting a hole or thread in a casting. DAI Plans to Expand Molded Core Capacity![]() DAI is in the process of increasing capacity in its molded core business unit. As part of the capacity expansion plan it is procuring a new 220 ton state of the art high pressure injection machine. The plan also includes adding additional kilns which will increase firing capacity by 35%. The new capacity is being added to service current customer demand as well as new work that has been secured through NPI operations. The new capacity is expected to be installed and operational by the 4th quarter of 2011. Lab Facilities at DAI![]()
DAI continues to add new pieces of equipment for both quality control as well as new material development. For quality control purposes, DAI has acquired several state of the art instruments to check critical to quality (CTQ) material properties on incoming raw materials as well as in-process and finished injection molding feedstock. Our current capabilities include wet particle size analysis via laser diffraction, dynamic viscosity via high pressure capillary rheometer, LOI via muffle furnace, room temperature MOR via three point bend, porosity via Archimedes method, thermal expansion via high temperature dilatometer, and high temperature slump. With each measurement, DAI has adopted industry standard test methods and has documented those using thorough procedures. Our highly trained staff tests our production materials to these exacting standards to assure material quality and performance from batch to batch. It is DAI's goal to manufacture and provide industry leading materials to all of our customers. In addition to our quality control test equipment, we also maintain a state of the art development lab and pilot plant where improvements to current technology are made and the technology of tomorrow is developed. Our lab area features a torque rheometer where new formulations can be produced and tested on a lab scale. From there, compositions can be scaled up to pilot size for further evaluation. Our pilot plant features equipment that mimics our production equipment, but on a one tenth scale. We pride ourselves on working closely with our customers to supply materials that meet even the most stringent specifications. With that in mind, DAI is open to working with customers to tailor current materials or develop new core bodies for current and emerging applications. DAI has made a significant investment in its business with the goal of producing industry leading materials for not only today, but well into the future. If you have any questions about DAI's material testing capabilities, or would like to discuss your material needs, please contact our Engineering Manager.
