Letter from Nurse Marie Phillips
| |
Dear Burr Families,
I have so enjoyed taking care of the children at Burr School. They are kind, polite and obedient, even during illness and injury. This is due in large part, I believe, to the careful attention paid to them by their parents. It has been a pleasure to be your school nurse. Thank you for my wonderful experience at Burr School. A new full-time school nurse will be hired; that process is presently underway. I am sure that nurse will enjoy our community as much as I have.
Sincerely,
Marie Phillips, RN

Last Call for Presenters - we could use a few more especially for the First and Second Grades!
You don't have to be a polished presenter - but please make sure the content is age appropriate. I would be happy to help if you're interested, but need help with an idea or review of content.
We would LOVE to have two presentations per grade. Please help make that happen!

Reminder from Ms. Johal: NPS Gift Policy
| |
As we approach the holiday season, please remember the Newton School Committee Policy: "No teacher in the performance of regular duties shall receive presents from the pupils under his or her direction." It is wonderful that families wish to acknowledge the hard work of our dedicated staff. The staff would be delighted to receive notes, pictures, or poems to thank them for their service. You may also honor a teacher through a donation to the PTO or by fulfilling a 'Wish List' request for classroom supplies. I have suggested that each classroom teacher and specialist prepare a wish list of things that he/she could use in the classroom.
