Join Us June 14th, for DDC's 26th Annual Recital Showcase,
"Follow Your Bliss"!

The theme for this year's recital is "Follow Your Bliss!" And that's what all of our instructors have done, from choosing the music, to the costumes, and the rest. All of our classes are finishing up their choreography in the next few weeks so that the dancers will have time to make the necessary adjustments to perform their very best! The costumes have already begun arriving at the studio, and some of them will be worn at DDC's appearance at the Denton Arts & Jazz Festival, April 26pm 1-2:30! (Please see links to the right to see who's performing this year.)
The recital will be divided into 2 shows--Program 1 at 12:30pm and Program 2 at 3:30pm at ARGYLE HIGH SCHOOL, 191 U.S. 377, Argyle, TX 76226 (about 9 miles out US 377 on the left hand side). Each show will last approximately 2 hours. Dancers will be |

RECITAL PHOTOS TAKEN MAY 6-8 at DDC!
The schedule for Recital Photos will be posted and emailed by April 21st. Prices for the photo packages range from $20+. PURCHASE OF THESE PHOTOS IS OPTIONAL, BUT I WOULD LIKE ALL OF OUR STUDENTS TO BE IN THE GROUP PHOTOS, so that I can "hang them in DDC's Hall of Fame".
Each class will have a specific time for individual AND group photos during these three days--it is important that all dancers be on time and ready so that we can fit six days of classes into three days of classes. For levels 4 and under, dancers may wear hair and makeup the way the parents prefer (i.e. no makeup at all or tons of makeup--hair down and curled or up in a bun, etc.) For classes that are levels 5, 6, & 7, hair should be appropriate for the style of dance. Please ask the teacher what they prefer for hair--makeup is as parents prefer. FOR THE RECITAL, WE HAVE TO DO THE STAGE MAKE-UP so that dancers' features can be seen from the back row!

The premiere of the "DAD'S DANCE" last year was such a HUGE SUCCESS, that we are continuing the new tradition by, yet again, featuring our dancers' DADS in a "Dads' Dance!" Make your daughter proud, and join us for fun, comedy, and an easy-to-learn "macho" dance routine that will leave our audience wanting more!!!

Don't forget to pay your $40/student or $60/family Recital Fee. This fee is necessary due to the high costs of putting on a professional quality production. Fees go to
rental of the building, custodial costs, security guard, technical (lights/sound), printing of 1000 programs, and extra pay for the teachers who spend countless hours at the theatre during these 3 days.

Our resident non-profit dance company, the Denton City Contemporary Ballet (DCCB), will be traveling to Austria June 23-July 6 to perform with the Young! Tanzsommer Dance Festival! We are one of only 10 companies per year invited to perform for audiences in Innsbruck, Lienz, & St. Johann!
