Please have your dancer wear his/her Halloween costume to dance classes on the above days! DDC's Halloween Dress Up Days have become quite a tradition, enabling the DDC Faculty to share in the dancers' excitement of the season, as well as being a teaching tool, adding theatrical elements to dance.

Mr. Chris, as we like to call him, has been quite busy since moving to LA last year! He's landed several National commercials on TV (Sensa & Cricket Wireless), has appeared in a few episodes of "Glee," was featured on the Latin Grammy Awards, and most exciting of all.....
will appear a Guest Artist in our own "A Gift for Emma" as the Robot Doll!!!

"A Gift for Emma" PRODUCTION FEE DUE
Don't forget the $40 Production Fee ($60 per family) is due this month. This fee helps to maintain, repair, clean costumes, enable video broadcast in the dressing room, pay technicians, and more! This production costs thousands of dollars, and the fee helps offset these costs. You can pay this by clicking below, logging into your DDC account, or dropping a check off to the studio.

RECITAL 2014 COSTUME FEES WILL BE POSTED ON YOUR DDC ONLINE ACCOUNT BY OCTOBER 16TH!
Please don't forget that all the recital costumes need to be paid for by November 30th. We measure dancers in class during the month of November, pick out the costumes in December, order them the first week of January, they don't ship until 12-16 weeks later, and by mid-April, we should have them in time for Recital Picture Week and the Denton Arts & Jazz Festival.
Costume Fees are as follows:
Combo Classes $85-$110 (ages 4-9)
Ballet or Jazz only, under age 11, $80
Ballet or Jazz only, age 11+, $95
Contemporary, $85
Hip-Hop, ages 8-10, $75, ages 11+, $95
Tap, $85

The perfect opportunity for parents to get some "Me Time," shopping time, date night, etc! Dancers, ages 7-11 bring their pillows and dress in their "jammies," come to the studio and spend time with our DCCB company members who will paint nails, style hair, teach them a hip hop routine (or "Emma" big girl dances); we also decorate pointe shoes, eat pizza, and watch movies! It's the best time for all involved and costs $25/person.
The sign up forms will be available soon and handed out in class in late November.

As you may or may not know, Miss Lisa rents a 16 foot Uhaul Truck to carry the dance floor (90 lbs per roll), 200 costumes, props, & supplies over to Krum High School for the show. It takes about 30 minutes to load the truck and 30 minutes to unload on SUNDAY, NOV 17 from 1-4pm. It takes about 2.5 hours after the last show to put everything back into the truck and unload at the studio on SUNDAY, NOV. 24th.
Miss Lisa cannot do this alone--PLEASE VOLUNTEER TO HELP BY SIGNING UP ON THE BULLETIN BOARD IN THE HALLWAY AT DDC! Thank you all so much for supporting your dancer, DDC & our dance company!!! (and Miss Lisa) |

DDC FUNDRAISER A COMPLETE SUCCESS!!!
 Thanks SO MUCH to those of you who helped make our Fundraiser one of the most successful fundraisers yet! In total, our dancers sold $8718 worth of products, $4359 (1/2) of which goes to DDC for our new security lighting, our new pathway from street to front door, 3 dehumidifiers, and a good start to our new dance floor in studio A! Many of our dancers sold enough products to earn a complimentary DDC Logo Zipper Hoodie Sweatshirt! (They should arrive in two weeks) Thank you, Thank you, thank you!!!! -Ms. Lisa- |

Jim McNatt Dealership Contributes to the Denton Arts!!!
Our resident dance company, the Denton City Contemporary Ballet (DCCB), will be selling raffle tickets through April 2014. All proceeds will go to DCCB and will help our dancers go to Austria next June! The tickets are $2 each and there will be 3 winners of A BRAND NEW CAR OR TRUCK--the drawing is in May! Please ask in the office if you'd like to purchase or check with one of our DCCB or DCCB 2 members!
