That's right!!! DDC's own Denton City Contemporary Ballet will be touring and performing in Austria again next
June 24-July 6, 2014!
For those of you in Denton City Contemporary Ballet that are able to go, our first payment of $550 is due August 15th. Please fill out the forms and include your check (or credit card #) made out to "Young! Tanzsommer" and drop it by the studio August 12th or 13th beween the hours of 10am & 2pm. I can then mail it all in at once. IF YOU ARE NOT IN DCCB, BUT PLAN TO AUDITION AUG. 24TH AND ARE CONSIDERING GOING ON TOUR IF YOU MAKE IT, you can make your first payment by Sept 1st, and the second payment by Sept 15th.

Congratulations & Best of Luck to Miss Danielle!!!
Miss Danielle has been working for Denton Dance Conservatory since the summer of 2009, and she just graduated from UNT with a degree in Dance & minor in Business. Danielle has been so very helpful to the studio in her position as Office Assistant, and has also danced with DCCB and taught for DDC last year. She values her time at DDC and is looking forward to returning sometime in the future to take up where she left off! For now, Danielle has been auditioning for performing jobs on cruise ships and has just recently secured a position with Royal Carribean on the "wait list" as a dancer for the fall!!! We wish Miss Danielle all the best as she "follows the dream!" (And we can't wait to have her back to tell us all about it!)

New Faculty at DDC!!! 
Risse Miller
With over 23 years of dance experience, Risse's primary training was in classical Cecchetti ballet. She competed in Scottish Victory Dance for 5 years and traveled with a professional hip-hop team throughout southern California from 1999-2000. Risse (pronounced like
"Lisa" except with an "R") has taught dance for over 10 years, including ballet, contemporary, lyrical, hip-hop, jazz and tap.
Her award-winning choreography and technical dance instruction have delighted students ages 2 through 72.
"Dance is a vital part of my life, family, and joy! I love leading students toward the fulfillment of their dreams, one 'step' at a time!" - Risse
Ms. Miller will be teaching the beginning levels of Ballet, Jazz, & Tap, as well as Adult Ballet Fitness!!!

AUDITIONS FOR DENTON CITY CONTEMPORARY BALLET & DCCB II (Junior & Senior Company, Ages 11-18), Sat. 8/24/13
Denton City Contemporary Ballet (DCCB), along with their Junior Company, DCCB II, both of which are Denton Dance Conservatory's resident non-profit dance company, will hold their annual auditions on Sat., Aug. 24th. The auditions will be divided by age: Ages 14+ will audition from 11:30am-1pm and Ages 11-13 will audition from 1:30-3pm. The auditions will consist of a ballet barre, centre work, & pointe work. Those dancers who are not "en pointe" will not need to bring pointe shoes. Dancers will be considered for membership in both the Sr Company AND the Jr. Company, neither of which is decided by age. DCCB dancers make up the lead roles in "A Gift for Emma," "Peter & the Wolf," "Carnival of the Animals," and also perform in the COLLAGE Denton Dance Festival. DCCB dancers will be performing in Austria next summer as part of the Young! Tanzsommer Dance Festival. For more information about DCCB, please go to www.DentonCityContemporaryBallet.org

"A Gift for Emma" Auditions in Sept!
 Most of our dancers that are in twice/wk ballet classes, some Hip Hop classes, the Contemporary Classes, etc. will be learning "Emma" choreography in class, so they are not required to audition. Dancers who should attend this audition are ages 4-7 years old who are enrolled in DDC's combo classes. Please know that, if accepted, there is a $40 Production Fee, and that rehearsals will be every Saturday in October (usually between 9am and 1pm). PLEASE CHECK PERFORMANCE DATES AND EXTRA REHEARSAL DATES ON OUR EVENTS CALENDAR IN THE FIRST ARTICLE!
DDC dancers ages 4-5: Sat. 9/7/13, 11:30-12pm Studio D
(At least one parent present) DDC dancers ages 6-7:

All dancers should wear their regular ballet attire and have their hair in a bun if applicable. Boys should wear white Tshirt, black biker shorts or leggings, black socks and black ballet shoes.
