Hello DDC & DCCB Dancers & Parents!

Below is the information you need to be able to do your hair and makeup for "Emma"!  Regarding the dress rehearsals at Krum Theatre, most dancers should wear their dance clothes to the theatre where they will then change into costumes that we will have in the cafeteria.  All dancers except the following should wear pink tights, ballet shoes, and hair slicked back in a bun:
  • "Ballet Class" DCCB 2 dancers wear black camisole or tank leotard with pink tights, pink ballet shoes, black dance skirt, hair slicked back in a bun.
  • Butterflies wear black camisole/tank leotards and black leggings or tights with bare feet.
  • Tidy Elves need a white shirt, and a leotard underneath
  • Collectors' Boy Dolls should wear black ballet or jazz shoes
  • Collectors' Girl Dolls should wear pink tights, black leotard, their dress, and hair 1/2 up and 1/2 down, curled if possible, and pink ballet shoes.
  • Toy Soldier Girls will need their pink tights, pink ballet shoes, hair in a high bun.
  • SeaSprites will need their pink tights, pink ballet shoes, hair in a bun.

Thank you all for your patience and for reading, yet another email!!!

Last Minute Notes for All...
Many of you already heard this at the full act rehearsals we had this weekend.  Even so, this is pretty important info--
  1. ONLINE TICKET SALES WILL STOP AT 8AM THIS FRIDAY, 11/23--after this time, you can purchase tickets at the door ONE HOUR PRIOR TO CURTAIN.
  2. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU "CHECK YOUR DANCER IN" WITH THE CLASS MOM AND "CHECK YOUR DANCER OUT" WITH THE CLASS MOM.  This is very important so that we can keep all dancers safe and where they need to be.  If you have to pick up your dancer at intermission, PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU LET THE CLASS MOM KNOW!
  3. All dress rehearsals are closed rehearsals--this means that we have no observers--this is for insurance purposes.  You may wait for your dancer in the lobby at KHS, or drop off and pick up.
  4. NOTHING BUT WATER TO DRINK PLEASE--this is to prevent cleaning issues with costumes and in the school.  If you have to send your dancer with a snack, PLEASE BE SURE IT IS NOT STICKY OR MESSY.  Dry crackers, etc.
  5. Please make sure your dancer's hair and makeup are done BEFORE you drop them off at dress rehearsal or for the performance!  We have wonderful and dedicated Class Moms, but we cannot expect them to do everyone's hair and makeup too.
  6. DADS WILL BE ALLOWED TO GO INTO THE CAFETERIA TO DROP OFF AND PICK UP THEIR DANCER.
  7. Please make sure your dancer has her own bobby pins, safety pins, hair brush, and lipstick.
  8. LABEL ALL SHOES WITH YOUR DANCER'S NAME
  9. WE NEED ALL CLASS MOMS AT THE DRESS REHEARSALS so that the dancers and their parents will know who you are for the show--this is also to make the show run more smoothly.  Show day is not the time to "experiment." :)
  10. Class Moms receive a free 5 x 7 photo from Bruce Davis!  Apprx 1 week after the show, please go to www.Davis-Studio.net and click on any DDC or DCCB link and input "lisa" as your username & password.  You will be able to see all the photos of the show!  DEADLINE TO ORDER CLASS MOM PHOTO IS JAN 15TH, 2013
  11. DDC HAS VERY FEW CLASSES DURING TECH WEEK--if your dancer is in the show, he/she will most likely NOT have class next week. THE FOLLOWING CLASSES WILL MEET:
-Bal/Jazz Monday, 3:45-5:15
-Bal/Tap Monday, 5:30-7
-Bal/Tap Tuesday, 3:30-4:30
-Bal/Tap Tuesday, 5:30-7
-Jazz Wednesday, 4:35-5:25(combined Hannah & Anne's class)
 -Bal/Tap Thursday, 3:30-4:30
Stage Makeup & Ballerina Bun Tutorials
DanceCampers at table Make sure your dancer knows that the only reason dancers wear makeup on stage is to ensure that their features are visible to even the back row of the audience.  We do not wear makeup to be prettier or more handsome! Below are two YouTube videos that may help "de-mystify" the process:
