We are thankful for the 370 community and business leaders who joined us for the DCEDC annual investors meeting on Thursday, April 7th, at the Stone Harbor Resort and Conference Center in Sturgeon Bay. Keynote speaker Dan Ariens of Ariens Company discussed "Growing a Workforce in Rural Wisconsin." He was invited by the DCEDC Board of Directors to share his leadership and success in growing his company's workforce, especially their work with local schools to retain youth in their community.

David Eliot and Madeline Harrison of Peninsula Publishing & Distribution with Brad Andreae, owner of Therma-Tron-X, Inc. 
Therma-Tron-X, Inc. was named the Door County Industry of the Year, and David Eliot and Madeline Harrison, owners of Peninsula Publishing & Distribution, received the Entrepreneurs of the Year Award. The luncheon meeting included Executive Director Bill Chaudoir's report to the community about the activities and accomplishments of DCEDC during 2015.

David Eliot and Madeline Harrison, owners of Peninsula Publishing & Distribution, were named the winners of the annual Door County Entrepreneur of the Year Award. 
Peninsula Publishing & Distribution - encompassing the Peninsula Pulse newspaper, Door County Living magazine, Paper Boy distribution and Peninsula Filmworks - is dedicated to the creation of unique, original and locally-focused informational content. 

The consistent growth of Peninsula Publishing & Distribution over the last 20 years has directly translated into the creation of a considerable number of professional, year-round jobs on the Peninsula. Between their four separate but related business entities, the company's total combined annual revenue makes theirs one of Door County's more successful home-grown businesses.

Therma-Tron-X, Inc. was named the
 winner of the Door County Industry of the Year Award. The annual award recognizes a local construction, service or manufacturing business that has made a substantial impact on the community and enjoyed significant accomplishments during the past year.
 
Therma-Tron-X Inc., (TTX) founded in 1969 by Otto Andreae and Ray Sherman, are global specialists in the design, fabrication and installation of world-class custom paint finishing systems for industrial clients. TTX Environmental, a division of Therma-Tron-X, Inc., develops water and waste-water treatment systems that minimize the operational costs and environmental impact of industrial processes.

Since moving into the Sturgeon Bay Industrial Park in 1976, Therma-Tron-X has seen significant growth in the size and scope of their facilities, team members, clients and annual sales.
Wellness Works Awards                            

The 2016 DCEDC investor's meeting saw the second annual presentation of the Wellness Works Awards, a collaboration between DCEDC, the Door County YMCA and Ministry Door County Medical Center, recognizing business leaders who encourage employee wellness. Annual Report Available On-Line

DCEDC announced that the corporation's recently released 2015 Annual Report to investors is now available on-line at the organization's website. The report, which was released to the public during the DCEDC annual investors meeting on April 7th, presents a look at the accomplishments of the organization over the past year.
 
"We are pleased to share our annual report with the community," DCEDC Executive Director Bill Chaudoir recently said. "DCEDC continues to work hard each day to improve the economic vitality of the county and its residents; we welcome the opportunity to share the successes of our organization."

The  DCEDC 2016 annual investors meeting is currently airing on Sturgeon Bay Public Access TV (Charter Cable Channel 989) at 10:30am, 7:30pm and 1:30am daily. The Sevatopol PEG Channel (Charter Channel 986, available to all Charter subscribers in Door and Kewaunee Counties) has scheduled it to play this Thursday and Friday evenings at 7pm, and Saturday at 9am, plus other times which will be in their online schedule page. The meeting was recorded for rebroadcast courtesy of Soik Communications, who also produced our award videos.
