Message from the Executive Director
Constructing a Comprehensive Post-2015 Development Agenda
Sonia

The Post-2015 Development Agenda and Goals stems from the realization that the eight Millennium Development Goals-which include reducing extreme poverty rates by half, stopping the spread of HIV/AIDS, and providing universal primary education-will not be met by the target date of 2015.

The United Nations (UN) General Secretary therefore launched the Post-2015 Development Agenda and Goals, which aim at setting new goals and recommendations that extend beyond 2015 to keep momentum on the unprecedented efforts to meet the needs of the world's poorest.
