Milford Board to Interview Candidates for Next Superintendent
Milford Exempted Village Schools is in search of new Superintendent to replace Dr. Robert Farrell who is retiring. Steve Horton, Board Services Consultant for the Ohio School Boards Association (OSBA), is leading the search. Horton gathered input from staff, local business leaders and community members the week of April 18. He provided the board of education with a detailed report of the input he received to help the board develop a more detailed profile of the ideal candidate, enhance their understanding of perceived future challenges and opportunities, and assist them in setting specific criteria for the screening, selection and evaluation of candidates.
The application deadline was April 22. The Board has narrowed the field to five candidates to interview on May 4 and 5. Staff and community members will have the opportunity to meet the two finalists and share input before the Board makes their final decision. A meet and greet with the two Superintendent finalists is planned for May 14, at 5:30 p.m. at Milford High School. The Board expects to have a new Superintendent appointed by August 1, 2016.

A culmination of months of partnership and sharing between two different generations will be on display on Sunday, May 15.
Milford High School photojournalism students, under the direction of teacher Janelle Schunk, have partnered with 14 residents at SEM Villa and have met weekly with their partners all semester.
According to Mrs. Schunk, the goal of the partnership is to provide high school photojournalism students with a meaningful real-world application of the skills they are developing in the classroom, while also providing needed connection and social interaction for senior residents in our community. Students have been collaborating with their senior partners to develop a photo story that represents the life of their partner.
This partnership exhibit will be held on Sunday, May 15, from 2-4 p.m. at Modern Insurance/Opry House, 125 Main Street in Milford. The event is free and open to the public. Donations will be collected to support Clermont Senior Services.
