Dear AVYSL families:

Welcome to a new year with AVYSL!  Whether your child is registered in our Recreational, Competitive (Almaden FC) or TopSoccer JWB League, we are committed to our mission of advancing the personal and athletic development of players to their highest potential. Most of all, we hope each player simply has a blast playing this wonderful sport that touches millions of people around the world.

This is an exciting time for AVYSL.  We have made investments this year by adding experienced leadership to our competitive program, we are making education a priority by rolling out a "Speakers Series" for our member families, and we are looking forward to our 1st annual adults-only AVYSL Masquerade Ball to better connect us socially.

I would also like to recognize and thank our Board of Directors, who volunteer their time to serve over 1,700 players and their families. Thanks for all you do to make our league a success! And yet, we have key positions still vacant that need to filled so that the programs we offer can continue. We're looking for a Fall Rec Director and a few others.  If you are willing to step up to a role of service to the league, please visit our website for a list of open Board positions and we welcome your participation.

Thank you for your support of AVYSL.

- Andy Oehler, AVYSL President

Almaden FC is College-bound
Congratulations to Alvaro Madrigal from our Boys Almaden Real '95 team, who will to play for LMU on a full scholarship in the fall of 2014. Alvaro was scouted by LMU when Almaden FC 95 was invited to participate in the prestigious Surf Cup college showcase over a year ago.  Alvaro helped Almaden Real win the 2011 US Club State Championship, 2012 US Club Regional Championship and US Club Nationals during those years. Congratulations, Alvaro!
