Happy Spring! The saying for March is comes in like a lion and out like a lamb - hmm March doesn't seem to be living up to this saying. Snow the last 2 weekends in March that's just so wrong in every way!   I just returned from a week of sunshine and warmth which is really making me crave for the summer days at GBC. On a brighter note Summer is 84 days away.

The kitchen project continues to be on the top of our to do list for Summer 2015 prep. We are also working on prepping the new property for summer rentals. We are trying to furnish the property and would gladly accept any good quality donations. Another "ask" is for volunteers to assist in planning the new parking lot for business. If you have ideas or experience with running a parking lot please contact myself or Deb directly.

With the 2015 season coming quickly, I will continue to ask for your assistance in volunteering some of your time to make this the best season.

As per Kara's communication in the last newsletter, we are now in the process of hiring a new General Manager for the GBC. I would like to thank Deb Kelso for all of her hard work, dedication and advice that she has given and continues to provide the GBC and the Board of Directors.   She has been an invaluable resource who has been instrumental in improving the quality of the club's operations. I wish Deb all the best in her future endeavors. She will be missed.

The General Manager position was posted on multiple websites the first week of March. We have also received multiple recommendations of prospective candidates from shareholders. I would like to thank those who have already submitted names and would encourage any member to recommend a qualified candidate. All candidates must submit their resume online or via email at vicepresident@galileebeachclub.com no later than April 10th. Our goal is to complete the interview process and have a General Manager in place by May 1st.

Building's Blurbs

The kitchen project is moving along nicely. After gutting the kitchen  we ran into structural problems that had to be fixed.

After consulting with an engineer the problems have been corrected.  As of Feb 27 all inspections are in order. This includes electrical, plumbing, mechanical, fire alarm, insulation, and structural.

Next the walls will be covered with FRP board (fiberglass panels) , the floors will be prepared for a epoxy finish, the drop ceilings will get installed.

I will keep you posted on the project in the April newsletter.
