It has certainly been a long cold and snowy winter! I do hope everyone has had a safe winter and holiday season. Spring is only 20 days away which means summer is 111 days away!

The winter at the Galilee Beach Club has been very busy with the new kitchen project well under way. The kitchen has been gutted and the new façade is well underway. The anticipated completion date is April 1st. The new kitchen will not only assist with improving dining service to the deck and main restaurant facility but also to our private function business.

Our private function business for the 2015 season is set to begin with dates in May. Deb has signed contracts for over 20 functions and inquiries for the 2016 season already. We are becoming a sort after venue of choice, thanks to our location and facility.

Kevin Millonzi of Millonzi's Fine Catering will be returning for the 2015 season. Kevin has been a valued asset in providing advice on the kitchen project. He will begin to meet with the Dining and Entertainment committees for the 2015 season.

A special vote of Shareholders was taken and approved to purchase the property at 221 Sand Hill Cove. The property consists of a 2 bedroom house and approximately 50 parking spaces. We will rent the house seasonally and rent the parking spaces as well as use some for our overflow parking needs. We will gladly accept donations of good quality furniture and home goods for the property.

It is with great sadness that I inform all Debbie Kelso, our General Manager, has chosen not to return for the 2015 season. Deb has been a great asset and provider of tremendous knowledge to the Club. She will remain with us until June 1st to assist with on-boarding her replacement and various projects she is currently working on. Thank you, Deb for all you have done for the Galilee Beach Club and its membership. You will be sorely missed.

Now that we are closer to the start of the 2015 beach season the monthly newsletters will commence once again. If you have questions, comments or concerns please don't hesitate to submit them to me. I'm so looking forward to the long sunny hot days on the beach this summer. I promise not to complain when it's too hot after this winter. Have a great month!

I would like to again thank Deb, Kevin and all of the staff that made 2014 a successful summer at the GBC.  The Operations Team held our first meeting on December 10th and we are on our way to make the summer of 2015 an enjoyable and memorable experience.   Our goal is to enhance the GBC member experience by consistently reviewing and refining our current processes. I encourage club members to join a committee to share their feedback, provide input and develop solutions.
Secretary's Summations

Any shareholder who would like a copy of the minutes of the October Shareholder meeting, please send a request to secretary@galileebeachclub.com

The by-laws have been amended per the annual shareholder meeting, and the updated by-laws can be found on our website.

Treasurer's Tallies

Now that our fiscal year has come to a close, we are in the process of finalizing our books in order to provide for filing the Federal & State taxes.   A Cash Management plan is also being developed, in order to manage the liquidity of the club and to insure that the club always has access to funds as needed.

Kitchen renovations are under way and things are moving along on schedule. The new facilities should help reach our projected function revenue as well as make a more enjoyable dining experience for the 2015 season.

Here's looking to a prosperous New Season!

Building's Blurbs

With the cold weather arriving soon we were able to get the water and sewer lines completed. We installed a sleeve for National Grid to snake their gas line in.  By doing this, we were able to build a small retaining wall at the beginning of the driveway abutting the property of our neighbor.  We then had the asphalt installed. Now National Grid can do there work with out disturbing the driveway.

While digging the water and gas lines on the side of the building,  we exposed all the rot that has been decaying the sill  for years.  We have repaired the area with plastic material that will not rot.

We have to install a new fence which will pretty much wrap up the water, sewer, and gas project.
