Hey look it snowed......again! When I tried to imagine all the things that I would have to deal with as President, snow wasn't even a consideration. But, the good news it is a consideration because we need to make sure that the lot is available for parking and the walk way is clear for people who are coming to see the club as a potential new member or potential function client. The function and membership committees have been busy "selling" our club which isn't so hard once anyone sees the view. Even when the view is a snow covered one!  

With the new fiscal year upon us, we are keeping a close watch on the finances of GBC. Two months into the year, and we are slightly ahead of budget. It's a little early to get excited, but it is encouraging as we look forward to a busy spring and summer.

We have decided to upgrade our Dropbox storage capabilities for the club. We use Dropbox on a daily basis to store and access important club files and documents. Instead of sending or receiving files, most of what the various committees or board of directors need can be found in a Dropbox file. It also allows us to have administrative controls which provide greater oversight and control over our accounts and users.  

Gotta love new technology !!!

The last board meeting was held on February 5, 2014 at Jackie's office and via conference call. Items discussed were:

• The club will move to Dropbox for Business, which increases the security and storage space as well as the ability to grant access to documents to more people (as appropriate).
• Joined the Hospitality Association and are reviewing their various discount options and will be using their job posting resources.
• Working on creating the club calendar to show outside functions booked at the club, membership events throughout the season and other meetings and deadlines to track.
• The pallets not buried were moved and stored under the bathhouses.
• The rug has been installed!!
• Heat has been installed in the dugout.
• The club has been plowed on several occasions for showings.
• Working on updating policies, forms, and communications related to purchases and sales of GBC shares.
