The Club officially closes on Labor Day. After that day, there are several outside functions scheduled. You may be asked to sit at the side of the beach if there are functions scheduled utilizing the beach.

As you know, you may bring your own food & drinks to the beach after Labor Day. There will be one change this year. Weather permitting, Kevin will have the Dugout open on weekends with a limited menu. The bar will also be open in the Dugout.

Save the date!! On October 27th, we will have a new event, Patriot's Day at the GBC. There will be a buffet upstairs and food available in the Dugout. Watch for more info. in next week's newsletter.

Food Survey - In next week's newsletter, there will information regarding a survey, asking for your opinion about the food service.  To better serve all our members, the board is looking for your opinions, so please take the time to fill out the survey.

Just a reminder, through Labor Day weekend we will have a Food Drive for the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. If you are packing up your summer house for the season, please consider bringing in your non-perishables to be donated.

Our summer days are passing fast, so don't miss out on the fun we have planned these last two weeks!!  

This Wednesday night, we will have another movie/karaoke night following the Family Italian Dinner.  We will feature the original High School Musical Movie.  The fun begins at 7pm, so don't miss out! 

On Friday night, we will have our fire pits, which provide the perfect setting for drinks and dinner.  

On Saturday, we will have Kara back one last time for crafts in the Dugout from 1pm-3pm. The evening will feature Dave Andrews who is comedian musician.  He has performed at many venues in Boston, Las Vegas, and Atlantic City and was the opening act for Huey Lewis and KC and the Sunshine Band.  He is a funny musician who won't disappoint!  Kevin wants to set the stage for Dave with an "Appy Hour".  He will have a few drink specials and an antipasto bar from 6 pm-7 pm.  Then, you will want to finish the night with dinner before the show! 

On Sunday, we will have Operatisti, a summer favorite, in the dining room at 6 pm, so make your reservations now!

Looking ahead, we will have another Adult Clambake on Friday the 30th.  This was so much fun the first time; you don't want to miss out!  We will have the fire pits set up to make the night complete.  On Saturday the 31st, we will have the Jazz Strollers, providing the tunes in the dining room.  The lead singer was a member of Brass Attack a few years back, and a few of our members go to hear them play every week. On Sunday the 1st, we will have our final big event with a barbeque on the beach along with a bonfire and karaoke!  What better way to end the summer nightly entertainment!!!

Make your reservations now for all these great events! 

August Contest - Photo contest of scenes from the local area. The winning shots will be framed and hung in the Dugout this fall and will be on display starting next season.  Again there is no age minimum, age limit, or limit to the number of entries.  To enter, get out your camera and take some local pictures (the rocks, the club itself, the light house, sand, rocks, the marsh, etc., etc.), then send the electronic file(s) to president@galileebeachclub.com.  We will have several winners in this contest, so feel free to enter multiple times throughout the month.  All entries must be received by Friday, August 30th, and the winners will be announced at the end of summer BBQ.  The selection will also be done blindly by our judging committee.  Good luck!

Another great week has come and gone, and I know we are all thinking about the end of summer, kids going back to school, and packing up and heading back to our winter homes....but don't miss out, we still have a lot of fun events planned!  Movie night is this Wednesday, and Friday night fires and Krafts with Kara are included in the upcoming events that will round out the season.  Some of the best days are at the end of summer, so I'll see you on the beach!
