Greetings!
Greetings!
GBC now recycles, an old favorite returns, and ways you can get involved in our club are some of the items discussed in this issue.
Happy Reading! |
President's Ponderings
Get out your dancing shoes as Brass Attack is playing at the club on Saturday night. This is always a great night. My excitement this week is that my brother will be joining us for dinner. Did you know there is a Tracy boy as well as us Tracy girls? My brother did his time working at the club doing dishes and cooking in the dugout, so we cannot wait to show him the dugout in its new form and get him out on the dance floor. Hope to see you there as well! |
Secretary's Summations
A Board Subcommittee, consisting of Suzanne Hassan, Paul Harrington, Donna Carlson, and Josephine Curzake, was formed to do a final review and tweaking of the by-laws before submission to our attorney for review and then to our shareholders. The plan is to have the by-laws discussed and ratified at the annual meeting. If you have any issues for the subcommittee to consider, please email them to secretary@galileebeachclub.com. |

Committee's Comments
Nominating Committee Interest/Nominations - Nominations are now being accepted for the GBC Nominating Committee. Officers and directors are selected by our nominating committee and elected by the shareholders at our annual meeting to begin their terms immediately after the meeting. According to our bylaws, "The president shall appoint a nominating committee consisting of five shareholders in good standing. The makeup of the nominating committee shall be, one member of the Board of Directors and four shareholders who do not hold an office in the Corporation and who are not chairpersons of a Corporation committee." To that end, I have asked Gene D'Onofrio to be the board representative and the Chair of the nominating committee.
If you are interested in serving on the Nominating Committee or would like to nominate someone for this role, please send an email to President@galileebeachclub.com. All nominations must be completed no later than Sunday July 21, 2013 at 5:00PM. If you have any questions, please contact President@galileeebeachclub.com.
Board Interest/Nominations - Nominations are now being accepted for GBC leadership positions. Nominations can be self-nominations or the nomination of others. According to our by-laws "Only shareholders have voting rights may hold elective office. All members of the club may serve as committee members, except on the Board of Directors and the Membership Committee, which shall be limited to shareholders."
The Nominating Committee Chair, Gene D'Onofrio is accepting applications for candidates for:
- Two At-Large Board members to serve a two year term as a member of the Board of Directors to perform duties as provided by the By-laws or as assigned by the President consistent with the By-Laws.
- Treasurer to serve a two year term with primary responsibilities of overseeing the management and reporting of the Club's finances.
Nominations are to be submitted electronically to the Treasurer@galileebeachclub.com. All nominations must be completed no later than Wednesday July 31, 2013, at 5:00 PM. If you have any questions, please contact President@galileeebeachclub.com or Treasurer@galileebeachclub.com.
Multiple Nominations - Because the nominating committee selects the board, these positions are intertwined. If you are interested in being on the board, you cannot sit on the nominating committee, as you cannot nominate yourself. The nominating committee will be announced before the deadline for board nominations. |

Manager's Minutes
Well, we made it through the holiday week with Great weather, lots of live entertainment, and fun-filled activities for the children. To ensure this trend continues, we need your help with a few items listed below.
Parking - When pulling into the parking lot, please pull your vehicle as far as you can into the lot; this will help make room for the cars following you to safely pull off the street.
Children's Activities - Are planned every Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. This week we have Tie Dye on Saturday, so, in order to participate, we need you to please bring in a white tee shirt with your child's name on the label.
Fire Pits - Are every Friday night. Please plan the start to your weekend off here at the club enjoying family and friends' company on the beach around your very own camp fire. Reservations are made prior to or the night of with Kevin or his staff.
Enjoy - As always, my staff and myself are here to make your summer fun and enjoyable. Please let us know if you need any help carrying anything down to the beach, have a question, or just need some extra sunblock. |
|
If you need to know what's currently going on at the club, check out the staffs' message boards in the parking lot and in the tunnel entrance way. The staff is also doing poster boards, showing pictures of the prior week's events. Be sure to check those out as well.
Until Next Time,
Jacquelyn H. Tracy
