Greetings!

Greetings!

It's bonfire night and our unofficial kick-off to all our great summer events.   Please see the information below about our events for this coming week and as always you can see the full list on our website

Happy Reading!

President's Ponderings

It's bonfire night! It's bonfire night!!   This is one of my favorite nights of the summer! I love how everyone seems to come by the club at some point, and I get to catch up with people I haven't seen in a while. It is also the night I have used to introduce my friends to the club and start my sales pitch, convincing them that they want to be a member (boy does it work!). This year we have the added bonus of our dugout ribbon cutting. It probably seems like you haven't seen the dugout in a while, and I hope you will like what you see when you do!

Secretary's Summations

Shareholder Meeting Reminder:  Spring shareholders' meeting will be held on Sunday, July 7th, at noon in the dining room.

Please make every effort to attend, as a quorum will be necessary in order for any business to take place.  A proxy form is available should you not be able to attend.  When completed, this can be handed to the person you designate or given to me by Friday July 5thWithout a quorum, no business can be conducted, and the meeting will need to be called again, so please use your proxy if unable to attend.

Also please note that the by-laws require that all shareholders be in good standing in order to attend the meeting.

ARTICLE III, SECTION 3: D.  Any shareholder not eligible to vote or not in good standing shall not be allowed to be in attendance at corporation meetings

If you have any questions regarding the meeting or need a proxy form, please send a message to Secretary@galileebeachclub.com.

With the new accounting and billing software comes a change in the billing cycle (i.e., the period between billings).  The new billing cycle will start on the 1st day of the month and end on the last day of the month.  During this billing cycle, purchases, credits, fees, and any applicable finance charges will be posted to your account.  Statements will be mailed immediately following the end of the month.  We are working diligently to provide on-line access to your individual statement.

If you have questions on your bill when it arrives, please send an email to treasurer@galileebeachclub.com.  Please do not call the bookkeeper directly.

Building's Blurbs

Last week's issue was titled "Almost There" and that holds true this week. The dugout will be open on Wednesday with a fully operational kitchen.

However, due to issues beyond our control, you will see some work still occurring. Per the request of the building inspector, we will be removing the changing wall in the dugout bathroom. This will be probably be done on a Monday and/or Tuesday sometime within the next couple of weeks. We will provide a heads' up as soon as we have a date and time scheduled.

You will also notice, one day when ordering, that magically the finished counter tops have been installed. They have been completed, but to avoid stress on the food service system for bonfire night, the installation has been delayed until later in the week. As noted last week because of the floor delays, some of the finish work such as the installation of the roping on the columns, the addition of the heating system, and the finish work of the baseboards will not be started until after the floor is done.

Dugout Ribbon Cutting will be at 5:45 pm on Bonfire Night. Come by and get your sneak peak and see the history of Project Sandy from hurricane to frozen drinks!

Manager's Minutes

Holiday Week - As in prior years, we will be having a bonfire on the beach on July 3rd.  Please remind all children that although this is a fun event, it is also a dangerous one.  Please explain to them how hot the flames can get; we want everyone to have fun and stay safe.

Dunes - Unfortunately due to Sandy, we lost a lot of our dunes on either side of the club.  Please be respectful and help us build them up again.

Staying Informed - There is a weekly board on the shed and near the tunnel posting all events for the upcoming week.  If you have any questions, please see myself or one of my staff.
