Next Generation BREAK-SAFE
We have made a great tool even better!
PATENT # 6,078,008
Other Patents Pending
Safety has always been at the forefront of product design for Utility Solutions. One of the many design improvements of the next generation BREAK-SAFE is a Yellow Safety Lock that prevents the tool from an unintended load break or pickup operation. The intuitive lock works with any hot stick and keeps the user at a safe distance.

The next generation BREAK-SAFE also has an Extended Maintenance Cycle of 2 years. The new design operates smoother and stays cleaner longer and therefore requires less maintenance.

Reliability is another key aspect of our product line. The Load Break Ring and Shaft Assembly on the next generation BREAK-SAFE is made from an aluminum tube. This design is borrowed from the 600 AMP BREAK-SAFE model which has proven to be a rugged and dependable tool.

We have also introduced a Hard Case option for all models. This is an upgrade option from the soft case and

will keep the tool protected in a water tight, lockable hard case.

The new designs will be included in the 15kV, 27kV, and 46kV models and begin shipping in May of this year. Visit our webpage for more information.

Blanket Management
We have FIVE ways of securing Insulated Rubber Blankets ....we go WAY beyond the simple blanket pin.

1. ON A BUCKET

Our Bucket Mate Polymeric Hook is made specifically to fit inside the holes of blankets without cracking them. It also comes with a 5 Year Warranty!

2. AROUND A TEMPORARY JUMPER

The Jumper-Aid™ Jumper Hanger rotates 360˚ to capture a blanket rolled around a jumper and hang it over line hose. It can also mount inverted over a crossarm and hold over 100 pounds.

3. AROUND CROSSARMS AND INSULATORS

USCP-002 Klondike Clamp

The Klondike Clamp (USCP-001) is a blanket pin on steroids. It is 16" long and opens up to 11" wide. It makes quick work of securing blankets around crossarms, small diameter poles, and pole top insulators.

4. AROUND LARGE POLES

The newest Klondike Clamp is the USCP-002 which is 23" long. It safely secures a blanket on large diameter metal, concrete, or wooden poles up to 20" diameter. Now you can stop using tape or bungees!

5. ON TRANSFORMERS AND CABINETS

The Blanket Mate Heavy Duty Blanket Holder is made with very strong magnets that can support up to the heaviest and largest insulating blankets. The articulating construction allows it to work on round and flat metal surfaces. 5 Year Warranty!

Congratulations to Hall of Fame Inductees
Utility Solutions was proud to sponsor the 2014 International Linemans Hall of Fame induction ceremony on April 4, 2014.

Six inductees were presented during a dinner and awards ceremony at the Annual Rodeo in Kansas City, OK.
NCAMES Factory Tour

This month Utility Solutions gave factory tours to representatives from the North Carolina Association of Municipal Electric Systems (NCAMES). Members from the Rodeo and Conference committees took a break from setting up their 53rd annual statewide event which was held in Hickory, NC this year.

They toured the machining, assembly, fiberglass, and testing areas of the factory.

Lineman College Training
Utility Solutions hosted an overhead distribution learning session at our test yard in Hickory, NC. The graduating class from Caldwell Community College Lineman Training Program adjusted line tensions, installed cutouts and devices, and practiced climbing poles.

Thanks to Director Steve Stillwell and students for a great day. Special congratulations to those future lineman who graduated on May 7, 2014.
