2013 Highlights
Factory Expansion
Utility Solutions

We doubled in size after our 2012 building expansion, finalizing the machinery and equipment move in early 2013. USI continues to manufacture nearly every part and product in our Hickory, NC facility.

 

New Demo Trailers
We put new Demo Trailers on the road in 2013 and now have 7 trailers moving all across the country.  

 New Test Lines Installed
USI Testing Area

We constructed a test yard complete with 3-phase distribution lines, a transformer, and several cutouts. This has proven invaluable for R&D, photos and videos.

 

Trade Shows and Expos
We displayed at four major expo events from Oregon to Kentucky and several regional events throughout the country.

Measuring Sticks by Utility Solutions
2013 saw a New Measuring Option for hot sticks as well as four new cleaning products. We updated our Jumper Hooks, Klondike Clamps, and Blanket Magnets, and we added a new low voltage bypass tool. Remember that many of our most popular products came from lineman ideas! Let us know if you have an idea.

Jumper-Aid™
The January 2014 issue of Utility Products Magazine features the Jumper-Aid™ in its New Product Showcase section. The article, on page 35, highlights the inventor from Georgia Power, and how this device supports mechanical jumpers.

 

The 1 pound, 1-inch thick, patented Jumper-Aid™ can support over a 100 pounds and is made from a very strong polymer meant to handle cold temperatures and many years of service.
