CVSA Brake Safety Week is scheduled for September 8 - 14

We want to caution everyone there will be an increase in Level I North American Standard Inspections and Level IV Special Inspections.

A Level IV roadside inspection is not considered a "relevant" vehicle inspection to count toward a clean inspection under the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's (FMCSA) Compliance, Safety, Accountability (CSA) enforcement model.
During this special inspection the roadside inspector will still ask the driver for his/her driver's license and registration.

As part of the procedures, they will examine the mechanical components of air brakes, the steering axle, and brake adjustment. Enforcement will check the low air warning device, pushrod travel, brake linings/drums, air loss rate (if a leak is detected), and tractor protection system. The procedures also include building the air pressure to 90 - 100 PSP.

I don't know about you but one of the things that used to drive me crazy was driving a truck that was not set up to my liking. When I started my career in long haul transportation I heard many complaints of people not being able to sleep well on the road. This was partially [...]...»

The world is becoming more dangerous, most people would agree with that, but danger has always been around. The crimes are getting nastier and the villains start younger but crime has always been there. When it attacks some people  is when your guard is let down. Now I am not saying all crime can be [...]...»
