St Croix Hotel & Tourism Meeting
 | | Senator Buckley served as Keynote Speaker at The Buccaneer Hotel |
I was privileged to be asked to be the Keynote speaker at the St Croix Hotel & Tourism's general membership meeting on Tuesday February 12th at The Buccaneer Hotel which was well attended by private sector stakeholders in the respective area of hotel and tourism.
This was actually my first public speaking engagement since being sworn into the 30th Legislature of the US Virgin Islands. I used this forum to review my platform, to discuss the various committees that I have been assigned to and several of the initiatives that I have been working on to date. I was joined at the end of my speech by Senator Gittens to field questions by the general membership that included concerns with senate attendance at committee meetings, public safety, proposed bills and more. I encouraged members of the audience to contact our office with any additional questions or concerns that they had or may have in the future. I committed to holding an open door policy and to maintaining a two-way dialog about the issues that face our island and our territory.
