Our congregation is vigorous and shows much strength in its ability to take action on so many important issues. Our congregation is a place of positive transformation. A place that compassionately welcomes diverse thought and free inquiry. There are many individuals who would be well served by becoming members of our community of compassion, integrity and service. We should do everything possible to invite into our community all those that would be served by being part of Unitarian Univesalism and the UUCW.

 

To increase our congregation's vitality we need grow our membership.  A church needs to have a certain number of new members every year to make up for any members that have passed away or left the community due to life changes. New members can bring fresh talents,ideas and resources to help improve our congregation.

 

One very important thing we can all do to make our church even more welcoming, is to extend hospitality to new comers and visitors. This something our congregation already excels at. I have observed many people in the congregation be very affable to new faces on Sunday morning. Being friendly to all who enter our congregation is a crucial element to expanding our membership. I urge everyone to extend this hospitality whenever possible. I am always a little nervous when I first introduce myself to a new person, but I am always glad I did.
