For the beauty and bounty and blessings bestowed  

For family and friendship and feasting foretold

For healing and health and wholeness for all

Pray we peace midst the strife that divides us this fall.

Let the anger which boils from injustice confirmed

And the those whose reactions some others affirmed

Find in the midst of this terrible time

Moments to ponder the other and side

With attempts to illumine ways forward

So Thanksgiving Day marks our true love for each other.
