The first meeting of our third season is the second Wednesday in October, October 8 in the church lounge.  Please note that this is a change from our previous schedule.

 

We will continue our practice of alternating fiction and non-fiction reads, and our October selection is The Art Forger: A Novel by B. A. Shapiro. Please see last week's Message for the complete book schedule for this year.

Come one, come all who have ideas about fundraising this year.  We will meet in the Sanctuary following to discuss events and strategies for raising money approved by the congregation at the Annual Meeting last June.  In addition to its annual fundraising goal of $15,000, the congregation voted to attempt to raise an additional $30,000 before this amount is to be taken from investments in support of this year's operational expenses.  We are looking for enthusiastic and energized people and ideas to help us raise these funds.  Join us for this important summit.  Childcare will be available.  If interested in childcare, please email Aaron Payson (arpayson@charter.net) by Wednesday, October 8.

The Annual Holden CROP Walk is Sunday, October 19 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 346 Shrewsbury Street, Holden at 1:30.  JOIN TEAM UU CHURCH OF WORCESTER  to end hunger, one step at a time, as we help those in our local and world communities through Church World Service.  We will gather in Fellowship Hallafter the service, feast on pizza, then head over to Immanuel Lutheran Church for registration at 1:00.  The 3.5-mile walk begins at 1:30.    Walk, collect sponsors, or be a sponsor.  See the CROP Walk table in Fellowship Hall after church for the next couple weeks or contact sueneaz@townisp.com for more information.  FUNDS WILL HELP SUPPORT LOAVES AND FISHES FOOD PANTRY.
