FSP Houston December News

HAPPY HOLIDAYS

Mark Sorrell
Mark Sorrell, President 2012-2013

President's Message

Prior to the election, I predicted by the time you got this month's note that we would have a new president and everything would be back to "normal", whatever that is. Clearly that was said tongue in cheek. We do now have a new president, but there is still a lot of uncertainty in the business community that presents us with a headwind. I hope during this season we can take some time to focus on what is really important, our families, our communities, friends and neighbors and God's grace who gave us all these things. Each of us has a lot to be grateful for.

I am very excited about the events we have coming up after year end.

We start the year with our joint luncheon with NAIFA Houston on January 10th. Dick Webber, the National President of SFSP will be speaking. We are expecting a very large group, so please make reservations early. Then in February on the 21st, we have our Award Banquet at Brennan's of Houston. This is always a highlight of the year. We have also lined up some great speakers for March and April. The topics will be the results of the "financial cliff" and also the new healthcare bill. They should be very informative.

I can't believe half the year is gone already. It has moved fast. So on behalf of the board, please have a wonderful hliday and Happy New Year!
