Leader in Training Program
Camp Chicago 2016

At Camp Chicago we are passionate about producing leaders. And Our Leader in Training program is designed for campers age 16-17. Our 2016 LIT Staff would like to introduce themselves and tell you more about why they hope you'll JOIN US for LIT this summer.
Meet the Camp Chicago LIT Director for 2016
Nate Nesbit from St. Michael and All Angels, Barrington
My name is Nate Nesbit, and I'm the Leader-in-Training Director. This will be my 17th summer with Camp Chicago. My time as an LIT were some of the best weeks of my life. The experience has helped me to become who I am today.

You'll spend your days cooking meals over a fire and learning communication skills through challenges and games. You'll also be taking part in a canoe trip, some high ropes adventures, and even an offsite field trip. What makes our Leader in Training program so unique is that we're teaching the skills and confidence it takes to be a successful leader both inside and outside the camping world. We can't wait for you to JOIN US on our 2016 adventure!

Missy Mulert - Teacher at Holy Family School
My name is Missy Mulert and this summer will be my second year as an LIT supervisor. During the year I'm a math tutor and Lego Robotics teacher at an elementary school. I'm extremely excited about this summer because it mixes all of my favorite activities together. We'll work on our fire building skills, cook meals together, make s'mores, hike, play card games, go canoeing, play Spikeball, have Eucharist, and spend a lot of quality time together as a group. The second week we get to live in the cabins and experience all of the other camp excitement. My favorite sports that we play are dodgeball, ultimate frisbee, Gaga ball, and Socgaga (a mixture of soccer and Gaga ball). I also love getting to spend time outside celebrating Eucharist together. The songs are energizing and I leave feeling like I'm in the right place with the right people. Another highlight of the week is Wild n Wacky, which is a relay race mixed with costumes and silly surprises. I really hope I get to hang out with you this summer!
Meet the Camp Chicago LIT Staff
Gage Oliphant - Student at Marshall University
My name is Gage Oliphant, and this will be my second year being one of the LIT Supervisors at Camp Chicago. I am currently in school at Marshall University, studying Bio-Medical Engineering and Environmental Science.

LIT is geared to toward building self-confidence and leadership skills that can be used in everyday life. You will be doing everything from building bonfires to Zip lining from the high ropes course. It's just a phenomenal experience to spend a week in the woods and a week being a leader in the camp community. Get fired up for Camp Chicago 2016!
