IHS predicts that Saudi Arabia will install 1,481 megawatts (MW) worth of PV systems from 2013 through 2017. This will make the country the third-largest nation in the Africa and Middle East region in terms of PV installations. Leading solar PV industry and market analyst Dr. Henning Wicht of IHS will detail this and the impact that technology costs can have on the Saudi PV market in his speech at the upcoming Desert Solar in Saudi Arabia conference on Wednesday, November 13 in Riyadh. A mix of local and international expert speakers will discuss the opportunities for pv project development and the impact of desert conditions in Saudi Arabia. Of the around 100 participants, more than 30 will be international, of which 20 international solar PV experts and top executives joining the International Solar PV Trade Mission: Saudi Arabia. Both the trade mission and conference are jointly organized in a partnership between Solarplaza and Saudi Arabia Solar Industry Association (SASIA). Goal of the conference is to facilitate networking and matchmaking between Saudi Arabian business executives and the international participants. The Desert Solar Conference will bring together project developers, EPC companies, O&M contractors, financial institutions, manufacturers and industry consultants.
