     * Declining Margins Push Downstream Integration Where previously firms were focused on becoming the largest and 'best in class' pure-play suppliers, many are now branching out into the downstream.

     * CPV system prices to decline 16% annually to 2016

     * IEA forecasts massive shift in global energy mix - nearly 90% of Middle Eastern oil exports will be drawn to Asian markets by 2035. At the same time, global energy demand will grow by over one-third, with China, India and the Middle East region accounting for 60% of that growth. 
 

     * Saudi Arabia:  Part of Saudi Arabia's 41 GW timeline emerges - Since May of this year Saudi Arabian plans to install 41 GW of solar capacity by 2032 have been known. Details are beginning to emerge as to how these plans will be built out. 

     * Saudi Arabia - Solar Business Opportunities in Saudi Arabia - presentation by Apricum - The Cleantech Advisory

     * Saudi Arabia: Makkah solar project bids to be opened in new year. Bidding for a 100MW solar project in Makkah is to open in the first week of 2013, the city's mayor, Osama bin Fadl Al-Bar, has revealed. 

     * UAE: Moderate solar growth envisioned for UAE. The results were presented at Solarpraxis' Solar Industry Summit - Middle East 2012. The conference kicked off with the presentation of the results of the Emirates Solar Industry Association's (ESIA) and PricewaterhouseCoopers' (PwC) 2012 United Arab Emirates Solar Survey by Hannes Reinisch, senior manager energy, utilities & mining from PwC, UAE.

      * Qatar Qatar breaks ground on solar stadiumThe tender for the first solar-powered World Cup 2022 stadium has been issued and the winners will be announced in November or December, the Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee has said. Construction should follow soon thereafter and if all goes according to plan, Al Wakrah stadium will be complete as soon as 2015.
  
    *Morocco   Morocco solar plant gets 300-mln-euro loan. The European Investment Bank (EIB), Germany's KfW bank and the French Development Agency signed the financing accords with Morocco's solar energy agency MASEN in Marrakesh, to support the first phase of the Ouarzazate solar complex.

   * Algeria -  Algeria plans to install 1.22 GW of photovoltaics by 2022. Sonelgaz Spa has disclosed its plans to expand the generation of electricity over the next 10 years, in order to meet rising energy demands in Algeria  
 
     * MENA regionRenewable energy the cheapest option for off-grid power. An influential lobby group, which counts energy policymakers of 102 governments plus the E.U. among its members, has produced a costing analysis that concludes renewable energy should be the default option for providing electricity to the millions of people in the world without grid access.
