Wilson
by A. Scott Berg
Highly engaging study of Woodrow Wilson, our 28th President. A detailed study of Wilson's personal life runs alongside a detailed study of his achievements in office: anti-trust act, tariff reform, introduction of the 8 hour workday. Berg also does not shy away from the obvious lows of Wilson's administration such as his permitting racial segregation in 2 federal departments & refusing to admit black students to Princeton University during his tenure as university president. Very artfully told biography of an unusual path to the Presidency. -Kim
The Killer Next Door
by Alex Marwood
I loved Marwood's 1st book "The Wicked Girls", but this one is even better! 6 people, all with their own secrets and problems, are living in a run-down boarding house in South London with an obnoxious landlord and a serial killer lurking. Not for the faint of heart, but the character portrayals are great and the story just plows ahead at a fast pace, keeping you on edge until the end. Mystery lovers, don't miss this one! - Sue Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Others Concerns) by Mindy Kaling If you only know Kaling as Kelly from The Office, then you are definitely missing out! Her screenwriting talent shines through each amusing anecdote and makes for a charming, quick read. She is intelligent and hilariously honest and you kind of want to be her best friend by the end of the book. -Hannah
Dance of the Reptiles by Carl Hiaasen If you think the stories and characters in Carl Hiaasen's novels are too far-fetched, check out this collection of his essays from the Miami Herald about real life goings-on in his beloved state of Florida. The book features "rampaging tourists, marauding pythons, larcenous legislators, crazed celebrities and tar-balled beaches" Hiaasen's commentary is often hilarious, but since it's non-fiction, some columns will leave you sad,
disbelieving, and downright angry.

Crash & Burn by Lisa Gardner Lisa Gardner never fails to send chills up and down my spine. Her latest novel, "Crash & Burn" starts off with a woman going over a cliff in a car accident. The descriptions were so vivid and haunting, I had to put the book down for a short while to recover. Nicky Frank, the main character, suffers from post-concussive syndrome from receiving three head injuries in a short span of time. Is she suicidal or is someone trying to murder her? Just when I thought I knew which direction this story was taking or I felt I was one step ahead of the characters, it took a different path and I was racing to catch up. Lisa Gardner's detailed research always shines through in her writing and "Crash & Burn" is no exception. I recommend it to everyone who loves a well-written, fast paced thrilling mystery! -Lisa
