Diary of a Wimpy Kid:
 The Long Haul
Releases Nov. 4th!

A family road trip is supposed to be a lot of fun . . . unless, of course, you're the Heffleys. The journey starts off full of promise, then quickly takes several wrong turns. Gas station bathrooms, crazed seagulls, a fender bender, and a runaway pig-not exactly Greg Heffley's idea of a good time. But even the worst road trip can turn into an adventure-and this is one the Heffleys won't soon forget.

Jeff Kinney is a #1 New York Times bestselling author and four-time Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Award winner for Favorite Book. Jeff has been named one of Time magazine's 100 Most Influential People in the World. Jeff lives with his wife and two sons in southern Massachusetts, where he is opening a bookstore.

Elf on the Shelf

The Elf on the Shelf is a special scout elf sent from the North Pole to help Santa Claus manage his naughty and nice lists. When a family adopts an elf and gives it a name, the elf receives its Christmas magic and can fly to the North Pole each night to tell Santa Claus about all of the day's adventures. Each morning, the elf returns to its family and perches in a different place to watch the fun. Children love to wake up and race around the house looking for their elf each morning.

Elves typically appear in their families' homes at the beginning of the holiday season (around Thanksgiving)

On Christmas Eve, the elves return to the North Pole with

Santa Claus--until next year!

This is a big seller every year and this year we have both boy, and girl elves!

Secrets and Scandals Event

H. Philip West Event

In Store Saturday November 15th from 10:00-11:30am

A Providence Journal profile dubbed Phil West "the godfather of political reform in Rhode Island."

Between 1986 and 2006 Rhode Island ran a gauntlet of scandals that exposed corruption and aroused public rage.

Secrets & Scandals tells the inside story of events that shook Rhode Island's culture of corruption, gave birth to the nation's strongest ethics commission, and finally brought separation of powers in 2004. No single leader, no political party, no organization could have converted betrayals of public trust into historic reforms. But when citizen coalitions worked with dedicated public officials to address systemic failures, government changed.

Great Books by Local authors.....

Rhode Island's Haunted Ram Tail Factory
by  Thomas D'Agostino and Arlene Nicholson

On May 19, 1822, Peleg Walker was found dead inside Foster's Ramtail Factory. Almost ten years earlier, he and four other family members had made the fateful decision to start a business. Legend has it that when relations soured over arguments about money, the partnership ended, with Peleg hanging from the very bell rope he rang each morning to signal the change in shift. Whether he took his own life or was murdered remains a mystery. Recognized as a haunted site since 1885, the factory now lies in ruins. Yet Peleg still keeps vigil over its remains, sounding his night watchman's bell and drifting with his candle lantern in hand. Based on two decades of research, the authors delve into the mysterious history of Rhode Island's haunted factory.

Texas Ranger Caitlin Strong returns in her most thrilling adventure yet!

The Paris Winter
by Imogen Robertson

What a wonderful story "The Paris Winter" was! The characters were so well written I felt as if I was the silent observer watching and experiencing the story with them. Maud Heighton is an art student, barely surviving in the harsh and unforgiving city of Paris. She gets a job as a companion to the younger sister of a successful man. But almost immediately the cracks begin to form in her new privileged position and she is drawn into a terrifying world of lies, greed, drugs and revenge. I found myself getting completely lost in the extremely descriptive style the author used throughout the book. This novel won't be released until November 18th, but I highly recommend it to all who love to escape to a different time and place.

Into The Wild

by Jon Krakauer

In 1992, Chris McCandless donated all of his savings to charity, burned his wallet, and hitchhiked to Alaska to live on his own. Into the Wild tracks his journey from the day he left town to the day his body was found. Extraordinarily moving, this story is one of my favorites. McCandless is honestly one of my role models!
