Claiming Space
by Pat Hinkley

Our lives are incredibly busy, but we really want meaning and purpose rather than hurry, hurry. The fast pace of life and information overload of the day-to-day can often leave you reeling: feeling out of control of your own life, full of stress, and low on happiness. You have a choice. You can chose to interrupt the pace, decrease your stress, and discover happiness within yourself. Claiming Space gives you simple and immediate ideas for claiming your own space. You are in charge. Claiming Space is a workshop in a book, designed to help you find happiness in your life, and most importantly, to realize that happiness is an inside job.

The Rosie Project
by Graeme Simsion

Nerdy Professor Don Tillman has his life so orderly & structured that he knows what he is having for dinner every Tuesday night of his life (lobster salad) & knows precisely how old his best friend's wife is (41 years, 356 days). This is the story of what happens to Don's neat & rational life when he decides to set aside bachelorhood  & find a suitable candidate to become his wife. A very fun book.

The Serpent of Venice
by Christopher Moore

Christopher Moore returns with another historical literature spoof. This novel takes place in 13th century Venice and features the fool Pocket, his sidekick Drool, and of course his pet monkey, Jeff. Borrowing from Othello, The Merchant of Venice and even bits of Edgar Allen Poe, Moore is able to weave the highbrow and the lowbrow together in a tale that makes you laugh out loud page after page.

Cliff Walk
by Bruce DeSilva

A fun, but at times dark, mystery set in Rhode Island with it's usual cast of corrupt characters, scandal, and seamy goings-on.  The main character, Mulligan, is a hoot, though!  A must read for any RI mystery lover!!

The New Colossus

by Marshall Goldberg

Wonderful book about the amazing reporter Nellie Bly and her quest to find the truth behind the death of famous poet, Emma Lazarus. Nellie is confronted with greed, corruption, and violence and yet she still presses on determined to bring the truth about Emma's death to light. I have always been intrigued by stories of Nellie Bly that I had heard growing up but this book brought her to life. She was truly an amazing woman who would not let the oppressors of the time, whether rich or poor, beat her down or break her spirit. I truly enjoyed this book and will whole-heartedly recommend it to everyone!
